Bharat Biotech has provided Regen-D, a drug to help the victims of the gas explosion in Nagaram village of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh recently.
Regen-D 60 is an innovative human epidermal growth factor produced by recombinant DNA technology, which aids in accelerated wound healing for 1st & 2nd degree burns and skin grafts.
The product has been widely studied, clinically researched and well published. It regenerates skin faster and reduces the healing time, resulting in faster wound healing with significant reduction in secondary infections during recovery from burns, claimed a company release.
Joint Managing Director of Bharat Biotech, Suchitra K. Ella, presented the contribution to the AP Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in the presence of Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday.
About 19 people lost their lives and several suffered burn injuries, following explosion in a gas pipeline maintained by GAIL last Friday.
Regen is being exported to more than 20 countries worldwide, including Turkey, Ukraine,Thailand, Iran, Columbia, and Nigeria. It has also received awards for innovative processes and technologies, most notably from the Department of Biotechnology.
