Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) said on Monday that it bagged Rs 1,395-crore contract from National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) for the setting up a raw material handling system for an integrated steel plant at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh. The turnkey contract includes execution of a system that can receive raw material, perform wagon tippling, crushing, store and feed the three-million-tonnes-a-year steel plant, the company said in a statement. This is the largest-ever order for a material handling package, it said. The contract would be executed by BHEL's industrial systems group that handles orders for bulk material handling such as coal and ash handling systems for thermal power plants, raw material handling and balance of plant equipment for hydro power projects, it added.
