Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has commissioned its first 700-MW supercritical thermal unit in Karnataka.
The company has commissioned its indigenously developed unit with supercritical technology at Bellary Thermal Power Project in Karnataka.
Order for the Bellary project by Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) was won by BHEL through international competitive bidding (ICB) on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
