State-owned power equipment maker BHEL today said that it has commissioned a thermal unit of KBUNL in Bihar.
“This is the first 195 MW unit to be commissioned by BHEL at the 2x195 MW Muzaffarpur thermal power station of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Ltd (KBUNL) in Bihar,” the power equipment maker said in a statement.
KBUNL is a joint venture of NTPC and Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd.
BHEL’s scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with associated auxiliaries and electricals, besides controls & instrumentation and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs).
The second 195-MW unit is expected to be commissioned in the current financial year (2015-16).
Shares of BHEL were trading at Rs 240.90, up 1.56 per cent, on the BSE.
