Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels (BHPV), a subsidiary of BHEL, here has bagged two major non-power sector orders, according to C.P. Chengappa, officer on special duty and Executive Director.
He was speaking here at the plant on the occasion of the Republic Day after hoisting the National Flag. Reviewing the performance of BHPV, he said it was well on its way to recovery and its achievements during 2012-13 were quite substantial. Supply and erection of 13 buffer vessels for Tata Steel (Jamshedpur), supply and erection of cryogenic liquid tank for CPCL and another similar liquid nitrogen tank for GSPC (Kakinada), de-aerator heaters and storage tanks for various projects of BHEL (Hyderabad), compact heat exchangers for HAL (Bangalore) and pressure receivers for BHEL (Bhopal) were some of the projects executed during the year.
He said the order book position was a matter of concern and BHPV had also felt the impact of the global economic slowdown. However, the company had received two major orders of late in the non-power sector - one for buffer vessels to SAIL (Bhilai) and the other for nitrogen plant to Numaligarh refinery.
