The Special Task Force on Hyderabad Metro Rail project is seeking to ensure a coordinated work between various departments and agencies to facilitate rapid implementation of the 72-km-long elevated metro rail project.
Nodal officers have been appointed from all government organisations to resolve the issues at the field level.
NVS Reddy, MD, Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd, said that so far 1,150 foundations (35 km), 1,001 pillars (30 km) and 8,205 segments (sufficient for 25 km) have been completed.
He mentioned that the track laying work in the first stretch of 8 km between Nagole to Mettuguda will be opened for passenger traffic on Ugadi Day in March 2015 as scheduled.
Delegation A high-level delegation of the Tanzanian Government visited the Hyderabad Metro office and held talks with the Managing Director to learn about the project implementation under public-private partnership.
The delegation sought guidance for undertaking infrastructure projects back home.
