BILT Q3 net rises 10%

Ballarpur Industries Ltd (BILT), part of the $4-billion Avantha Group, has reported a net profit of Rs 60.6 crore for the third quarter ended March 31, 2011 registering a 10.15 per cent rise, as against Rs 55 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

The net revenue stood at Rs 1,164.4 crore third quarter as compared with Rs 1,032.4 crore a year ago. BILT follows a July 1-June 30 fiscal year; therefore the current announcement covers the company's financial performance for the nine month and third quarter of fiscal 2011.

For the nine-month period, the revenues increase by 21 per cent to Rs. 3,310.7 crore (Rs 2,727.4 crore). The net profit stood at Rs 169.9 crore (Rs.157.4 crore), the company said in a statement.

BILT said that the total paper production stood at 6,39,327 tonnes for the nine months in FY 2011 compared with 5,87,300 tonnes in the previous fiscal. Shares of Ballarpur Industries ended flat at Rs 36.70 on the BSE on Monday.
