Bira91, the Indian craft beer company, is raising $ 4.3 million from Sixth Sense Ventures as a pre-Series C round which will take the valuation of the company to $246 million.
The company submitted corporate filings that label the securities as pre-Series C preference shares, as per business intelligence platform, paper.vc . There is a possibility of the company planning to raise a larger series C round later. The company has to date raised close to $74 million in equity financing.
Bira 91 has also raised funds from individual investors such as Farhan and Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Flipkart CEO, Kalyan Krishnamurthy and a group of General Atlantic executives. Its earlier institutional investments were by Sequoia Capital (2018 / $14 million) and Belgium-based Advent Management (2018 / $18.8 million).
