Birla Corporation Ltd, belonging to the M P Birla Group, has planned to enhance its cement production capacity to 9.3 million tonnes after the completion of its expansion programmes, including the 1.2-mt capacity increase proposed at Chanderia (Rajasthan) plant and the 0.6-mt increase proposed in Durgapur (West Bengal).
The company has applied to the Ministry of Environment and Forests for further increase in capacity at Chanderia by another 1.5 mt, taking its total cement capacity to 10.8 mt and capacity at Chanderia to more than 5 mt.
