Air conditioning and commercial refrigeration firm, Blue Star Ltd, on Friday reported net profit of Rs 7.27 crore in the second quarter.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 20.8 crore in the same quarter year ago, Blue Star said in a filing to the BSE.
Net sales during the second quarter this fiscal stood at Rs 573.46 crore as against Rs 590.36 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
Cost of materials consumed during the quarter under review was lower at Rs 334.34 crore as compared to Rs 407.48 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Revenue from electro mechanical projects and packaged air conditioning systems stood at Rs 375.87 crore during the second quarter, down from Rs 382.42 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
Cooling products revenue was, however, up at Rs 168.64 crore as against Rs 157.36 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, the company said.
Shares of Blue Star Ltd closed at Rs 213.90 a scrip, up 3.26 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
