Blue Star wins Rs 84-cr order from Bangalore Metro Rail

Airconditioning major Blue Star has won a Rs 84-crore order from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for the environmental control system and building management system for the seven underground stations of Phase-I of Bangalore Metro Rail project.

The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of chillers, pumps, air handling units, fan coil units, cooling towers, ventilation fans, motor control centre panels and building management system along with the associated work of piping, ducting, grilles and insulation, a press statement said.

The BMRCL is a joint venture of Government of India and Government of Karnataka, for implementation of Bangalore Metro Rail Project.

The Phase-1 of the Namma Metro project consists of double line electrified North-South and East–West corridor, covering a total length of 42.30 km. The East-West corridor will be 18.10 km long and the North- South corridor will be 24.20 km. Out of the 42.30 km., 8.82 km will be underground and the rest will be elevated.
