BMW Group India on Monday said that the company is increasing the prices by up to 5 per cent across the BMW and Mini product range, which will be with effect from August 15. This is the second time that the company has announced the price hike after January (by 6 per cent).
The company sells BMW range of cars priced between Rs 25.50 lakh and Rs 1.42 crore and the Mini brand costs Rs 26.60 lakh-Rs 37.50 lakh.
“We are making price decisions with all due care and consideration ensuring that the customers pay off in the long-run. BMW Group India is committed to customers and is doing its best to ensure that the customers continue to enjoy sheer driving pleasure,” Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India, said.
BMW Financial Services will offer a range of convenient and customised financing solutions. It will also offer BMW lease for individuals and corporate customers along with insurance solutions through its cooperation partner in India, he said.
The company’s plant in Chennai manufactures the BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, the BMW X1 and the BMW X3. The BMW 6 Series Coupe, 6 Series Convertible, 6 Series Gran Coupe, X5, X6, Z4 and Gran Turismo are available in the country as completely built-up units (CBUs).
The company has 35 sales outlets across India and it will increase the number to 50 by next year-end, it said.
The BMW Group introduced Mini brand in India in January last year with the launch of Mini Hatch, Convertible and Countryman.
India is the 100th market in the global Mini sales network and has become significant for the group since establishing its presence in the country in 2007, the company added.
