Auto component maker, Bosch on Monday introduced workshop concept in the two—wheeler segment here.
Announcing its foray into the two—wheeler service centres, Bosch Vice—President, (Automotive Aftermarket), Mr S Muralidharan said the company has opened 10 (Express Bike Service (EBS) outlets in the city on the lines of sole outlet at Delhi.
Stating that the company plans to expand EBS outlets to 50 by the end of 2012, with a minimum of 10 each in a city or town, he added that the outlets are aimed at filling the large service network gap in the country, the second largest worldwide with over eight crore two wheelers.
This would gradually increase to 500, since Bosch has 500 car service centres across the country, he said, adding the workshop would provide service to multibrand two wheeler vehicles and offer wide range of genuine two wheeler parts, workshop equipment, excepting engines and tyres.
Asked about procuring genuine spare parts, Mr Muralidharan said that the company itself manufactures a majority of the spare parts and has double digit growth in the market.
By opening more workshops, the company was confident of sustaining growth in the coming years, he said.
