Bosch Ltd has made a foray into thermo technology and launched Bosch Thermotechnik (TT). This division which will commence operations with the manufacture of solar flag plate collectors at a new unit in Bangalore, and sale of industrial boilers which will, for the present, be imported. The company which provides goods and services in automotive, industrial and building technologies and consumer goods space has invested nearly €1.5 million to set up the Bangalore unit, said Vidyasagar Halangali, head of sales, Bosch Thermo-Technology, SAARC region. Elaborating on the new division’s plans, Halangali said that despatches of the first products will begin later this month. “We are targeting the builder segment for the solar flag plates,” he said, adding that the company will also configure engineering systems customised for the hot water requirements of individual apartment owners in high rises. By establishing a dealer network and key account management with large builders, on the solar front Bosch TT expects a turnover of Rs 21 crore during this year. Halangali estimates sales of boilers will touch Rs 50 crore in the same period.
