Food and biscuits major Britannia Industries Ltd has posted a four per cent year-on-year rise in its net profit (standalone) in Q1 of fiscal 2012-13.
The net profit stood at Rs 43.5 crore during the period. Revenues stood at Rs 1,221 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal, a jump of 11 per cent from last year.
In the comparable quarter last year, the company realised Rs 10.4 crore income (after tax) from sale of property.
The company’s consolidated net profit rose 18 per cent to Rs 46.5 crore. Consolidated revenues stood at Rs 1,348 crore, a year-on-year rise of 12 per cent.
Managing Director Vinita Bali said the company was continuing its efforts at cost and revenue management along with innovation to improve the operational performance of all its categories: biscuits, breads, cake, rusk and dairy.
