The efficacy of any Budget has to be judged in the context of ground realities, particularly the challenges facing our own economy as well as the world economy. We all know the kind of problems facing the world today, also impacting our economy, and yet we've succeeded in achieving a reasonably high rate of growth which is an excellent example of judicious management of the economy with participation of the private sector.

The thrust to develop rural sector and remove infrastructural bottlenecks are in conformity with the present day requirements and the outlook for next 12 months.

On taxation front, of course we have to watch what Direct Taxes Code has to offer but I'm sure it will also turn out to be a pragmatic measure.

On the whole I'll rate the Budget eight on a scale of 10.
