Bangalore-based coffee retailer Café Coffee Day had the most explosive fanpage on Facebook last week recording the largest number of additions of fans globally. With over 2.43 lakh fans added during the week ended June 15, CCD currently has more than 7.9 lakh fans.
CCD entered the social media space 18 months back through Facebook and Twitter. “We've never used traditional media to talk to our consumers and using social media was the natural choice for us,” said Mr K. Ramakrishnan, President, Marketing, CCD.
The chain used social media to get feedback on new happenings in the café, to co-create the offerings with the consumer and also because the cafes themselves are hubs for conversations, consumers would take to conversing on the social media.
