Passenger car sales in India declined 22.51 per cent in March compared to the same month last year. Overall vehicles sales also declined 13 per cent last month over the same period last year.
All sub-segments of two-wheelers, scooters, motorcycles and mopeds registered de-growth at 3.18 per cent, 8.32 per cent and 4.54 per cent, respectively, auto industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said on Wednesday.
However, the overall growth in domestic sales during April-March 2012-13 was 2.61 per cent over the same period last fiscal. Passenger vehicles segment grew 2.15 per cent during the period.
Cumulative production during the period shows only 1.2 per cent growth, it said.
