Carborundum Universal, part of the Murugappa Group, on Tuesday reported a net profit after tax of Rs 49.43 crore for the 4th quarter ending March 31, 2011, a 52.42 per cent jump over the corresponding period of previous year.
The company reported net profit after tax at Rs 32.43 crore in the same quarter of 2009-10, a company statement here said.
For the financial year ending March 31, 2011 the company’s net profits stood at Rs 170.79 crore, a growth of 67.88 per cent over the same period of last fiscal.
The company’s net profits after tax for the year ending March 31, 2010 had stood at Rs 101.73 crore, it said.
The total income of the company for the quarter ending March 31, 2011, rose to Rs 434.42 crore, up from Rs 365.35 crore over the same period of previous year.
For the year ending March 31, 2011, the total income of the company grew to Rs 1,644.25 crore from Rs 1,306.67 crore registered during the same period of the previous year, it added.
