Global hotel major Carlson Rezidor Group on Friday said it would open five to six hotels in as many years in Gujarat, including in Gandhinagar and Surat, as part of expanding its footprint in India.
The Group, which opened its 21st hotel in India here on Friday, currently has 58 hotels in the country and 44 others are under development, said K. B. Kachru, Executive Vice-President, South Asia, after launching Radisson Blu, the Group’s third hotel in Ahmedabad.
Carlson Rezidor, which opened a property in Kandla recently, will open hotels across all major cities and State Capitals in the coming years, he said.
The new hotel here, Kachru said, has a late checkout facility — 6 p.m — and the guests would not have to pay any charges to stay until this time.
Kamal Galani, promoter-director, said he has invested Rs 90 crore in the new hotel.
The 116-room property will have a tariff ranging between Rs 8,000 and Rs 12,000 a day. It will have special deals with the corporate sector. Carlson Rezidor currently has over 1,300 hotels across 80 countries globally.
