South based fast moving consumer goods company, CavinKare, has set up a manufacturing facility at Bhiwandi town in Thane district of Maharashtra for its snack brand ‘Garden’.
The company acquired Garden in August, 2009. The investment for the plant is Rs 80 crore and the capacity will be scaled up to 1,800 tonne from the current 1,200 tonne, CavinKare said in a statement here today.
“Garden Namkeens is a significant brand from CavinKare that has grown to become a prominent snack in the market today. With this plant we can now pursue aggressive growth and also introduce a wide range of other products within salted snacks and sweets categories,” CavinKare Joint Managing Director, Mr T D Mohan, said.
CavinKare is a diversified FMCG major with brands in personal care, food, dairy and beverages. The brand portfolio consists of shampoos like Chik, Meera and Nyle, fairness cream Fairever, deodorants and talcum powder Spinz.
