The conclusions drawn by the CBI leading to the filing of chargesheet against JSW Steel Ltd is “without basis’’, the company has contended.
While stating that since the chargesheet has not been served against any of its personnel it was “premature to offer comments’’, and it hoped that justice would be done.
In a communication to the stock exchanges, JSW Steel stated that it learnt from media reports that the CBI had filed a chargesheet on Tuesday against some persons including from JSW Steel.
It was “premature to offer comments’ as the copy of the chargesheet has not been served on any of the company officials, it stated.
JSW Steel claimed that during investigations, the company had co-operated with the “investigating authorities and provided all the details in connection with the alleged transactions’’.
It said the company abided by law always and would present its case before the court. It had “full faith in the judiciary that justice will be done’’, the statement said.
Media reports said that the CBI had filed a chargesheet against the former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, his two sons and son-in-law and JSW Steel represented by its CMD Sajjan Jindal and some senior officials with regard to land de-notification case.
