During financial year 2015-16, Central Coalfields Ltd produced 61.35 million tonnes (mt) of coal, the highest-ever, against the target of 60.60 mt and last year's achievement of 55.65 mt.
The growth in production was about 10.25 per cent. This is the second consecutive year when CCL has achieved double-digit growth and achieved its target as well.
Coal offtake in 2015-16 was about 59.6 mt, the highest-ever, against last year’s achievement of 55.34 mt. The growth was about 8 per cent.
During 2015-16, Coal India Ltd’s subsidiary removed highest-ever 106.9 million cubic meter (97.38 M Cu M) overburden.
