CESC Ltd posted a nine per cent rise in standalone net profit at ₹309 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2019, as against ₹283 crore same period last year.
Total income from operations dropped nearly 6 per cent to ₹1,734 crore during the period under review, from ₹1,852 crore in the year ago period.
The company’s T&D (transmission and distribution) loss were contained and was lower than previous year, said a press statement issued by CESC.
CESC has invested in upgradation of city’s electrical distribution infrastructure with a view to provide efficient and reliable electricity supply.
Annual profit grows
For the year ended March 31, 2019, net profit grew by nearly 9 per cent to ₹937 crore (₹861 crore).
The company’s scrip closed at ₹661.30, down by 2.09 per cent on the BSE on Friday.
