The Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) of Malaysia has formed a joint venture initiative with Banquet Foods International to introduce ChicKing, UAE's most-trusted Halal fried chicken chain, in Malaysia.
ChicKing is an established chain of fried chicken restaurants from the UAE and offers a variety of innovative products such as Fried Chicken, Crunchy Supreme Burger, Chick Pop, Fish Crunchy Supreme, and Mexican Wrap. Started with just one restaurant in 2000 in Dubai, ChicKing has now grown to over 70 outlets across 15 countries.
The first licensed outlet would kick off in Temerloh, Pahang, this month.
The target is to eventually have 100 outlets in the region by 2015, Mr A. K. Mansoor, Managing Director of Banquet Foods International, said in a statement.
A lucrative market
This opening of the outlet is significant as Malaysia is the largest Halal hub in the South East Asian region, and is a lucrative market for the ChicKing brand outside of the UAE.
He said the association between FELDA and BFI brings the UAE's first and only international fried chicken brand to Malaysia.
Although the company is aiming to reach 500 outlets globally by 2015, the number of new outlets is not an immediate focus. The key principle in this joint venture programme is to ensure top quality food and service in each restaurant, he added.
