Flaying the recent ‘lay-offs’ in IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) said in a statement that this was being done “despite consistent rise in the turnover and profits”. CITU General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tapan Sen said thousands of mid-level IT jobs had been impacted in different TCS centres. Meanwhile, reports said the Regional Joint Labour Commissioner has called a meeting of stakeholders on the issue on January 22.
