Coal India eyes more buys in Mozambique

Coal India Ltd is looking to buy more coal assets in Mozambique. CIL currently has two exploratory blocks in the African country.

“Initiatives have been taken to operationalise Coal India Africana Ltd to oversee development of the coal blocks already in possession and, to venture into further acquisition initiatives in Mozambique,” the CIL Chairman, Mr N.C. Jha, said in his speech at the 37th annual general meeting of the company here today. This is the first AGM of Coal India since listing.
