Coal India posts ₹3,262-cr profit

Coal India Ltd has reported consolidated net profit of ₹3,262.49 crore in the third quarter of 2014-15 against ₹3,894.09 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. The standalone net profit, however, declined sharply to ₹695.82 crore in the Q3 (₹9,597 crore). During the third quarter, it produced 131.64 million tonnes (mt), while the offtake was at 124.57 mt. In the corresponding quarter in the previous year, the production stood at 118.71 mt and the offtake was placed at 117.16 mt.
