A Coke franchise bottling plant with an annual water recharge potential of 1.6 lakh kilo litre was inaugurated today by Ahmet C Bozer, Executive Vice President and President, Coca Cola international.
It is country’s second can line in the Coca Cola bottling System.
Moon Beverages, which is the franchise partner has invested over Rs 140 crore on setting up of the plant.
“This new plant reflects our belief in India as strategic growth market with immense potential. This plant will help catalyse local growth and development,” Bozer said during the occasion.
“Being a country with one of the lowest per capita consumption levels for packaged beverages, we see steady and robust growth in both sparkling and still beverages categories,” said Venkatesh Kini, Deputy Business Unit President, Coca Cola India and South West Asia.
“The new plant has created a water recharge potential of 1,60,000 kilo litre per year and has applied for green certification.”
“The plant has fully functional effluent treatment system complying with company requirements and state pollution control board norms.”
“Various energy saving features too have been included in the plant,” said Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director of Moon Beverages.
This plant has two lines - a can line to manufacture beverages and still beverage line.
The still beverage line is an advanced combi-block line, the first such line for any Coca Cola plant in India.
This line can manufacture juice as well as still beverages like added water, sports drink, Aggarwal said.
