Coca-Cola Company is contemplating an investment of Rs 1,000 crore in Telangana to set up a mega plant in the State. A top executive of the company met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao here on Monday to discuss the plan and sought the State Government support for this.
The Chief Minister said he would extend all the support and help it identify suitable land for the plant.
Irial Finan, Executive Vice-President (President of Bottling Investments and Supply Chain) and T Krishna Kumar, Regional Head (India) of the Coca Cola Company, met the Chief Minister. Telangana Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma and Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Managing Director Jayesh Ranjan were present in the meeting.
The team also assured the Government that they would participate in the community development programme, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said here.
Coca-Cola’s rival Pepsi had invested about Rs 1,200 crore in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. It also has a beverage manufacturing plant in Sangareddy in Medak district of Telangana.
