CRISIL announced on Monday that Ashu Suyash, current CEO of L&T Investment Management, will be the next Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of CRISIL.
Suyash will join CRISIL on June 1, 2015, Crisil said in a statement.
Suyash succeeds Roopa Kudva, who has been at the helm of Crisil since 2007. In September last year, Kudva announced her intent to leave her position as CEO of Crisil and ensured support by leaving after the company appoints her successor.
The announcement was made after market hours and Crisil had ended at Rs 2074.30 per share, higher by Rs 34.60 (1.70 per cent) over the previous close on BSE.
With over 26 years of experience in the Indian financial services industry, Suyash currently works as the CEO of L&T Investment Management Limited after L&T acquired Fidelity Worldwide Investment’s India Asset Management business, which was set up by Suyash. Before joining Fidelity, Suyash worked with Citigroup India for 15 years.
“I have always admired CRISIL for its professionalism, integrity, high quality research and analytics and the important role it plays in India’s capital markets. I look forward to working with the Board, employees, clients, and other stakeholders,” Suyash said.
