Crompton Greaves has secured a contract order worth Euro 3.5 million (Rs 27 crore) for supply and commissioning of a wind farm substation in France.
The 75 MW wind project will produce electricity for over 55,000 households. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2014.
Crompton will supply two 45 MVA step-up power transformers, medium voltage and high voltage insulated switchgear substation automation systems and ancillaries.
The substation will help integrate wind energy and boost power supplies to meet the growing residential demand, the company said.
