Crompton Greaves has secured a contract worth $60 million (about Rs 300 crore) from Iraq for the construction of four high voltage gas insulated substations. Crompton will design, manufacture, deliver and install the substations to reinforce an existing 132 kV electricity transmission grid. The project is expected to be completed by August 2014. Laurent Demortier, Managing Director, said: “CG has supplied high quality, reliable T&D products and has a successful track record of building similar substations in West Asia.”
