Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd on Tuesday said it will invest over Rs 2,500 crore in Odisha for setting up new manufacturing plants in Rajgangpur and Cuttack.
DCBL has proposed to set up a new unit of 2.25 million tonne per annum cement manufacturing plant and 3 mtpa clinker manufacturing capacity at Rajgangpur.
Once commissioned, the company’s total capacity in Rajgangpur will increase to 6.25 mtpa in cement and 5.9 mtpa in clinker manufacturing, MD & Group CEO of Dalmia Bharat Cement, Mahendra Singhi said on the sidelines of the ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave.
The five-day investment summit began on Monday.
The new Dalmia DSP unit will entail an investment of Rs 2,000 crore and is expected to be commissioned by late 2019.
The company is also putting up another plant with cement manufacturing capacity of 2.5 mtpa at Kapilas, near Cuttack, which will likely be operational in 18 months, at an investment of Rs 500 crore.
“Good governance, stable political leadership, industry-friendly policies, continued economic growth and availability of skilled man power are prime motivators behind Dalmia Cement (Bharat) reaffirming its faith to grow and expand its business in Odisha,” Singhi said.
He said with the implementation of smart cities and simultaneous development of social infrastructure, there will be an incremental growth in demand for cement over the next five years.
