Dalmia Cement Bharat is to commission its greenfield cement plant in Yadwad village, Gokak taluk (Karnataka), in five months.
The ₹1,344-crore plant is spread over 380 acres with a total capacity of 2.5 million tonnes a year and will cater to the Karnataka region.
“The new plant when commissioned will augment our overall manufacturing capabilities, and expand our annual production capacity from 17 million tonnes to 21.8 million tonnes,” the company said in a release.
To build the Belgaum plant, Dalmia Cement has roped in Holtec Engineering as the main engineering consultant, Larsen & Toubro for electrical installation, GDCL for civil works and infrastructure, and Haji APbaba for mechanical erection.
The plant in Karnataka is the seventh cement manufacturing plant in the country.
