Dassault Systemes acquires German engineering firm SFE

French software company Dassault Systemes has acquired German firm SFE GmbH, which provides conceptual engineering and performance evaluation services, for an undisclosed amount.

“The addition of SFE’s technology to 3DEXPERIENCE platform enhances Dassault Systemes’ transportation and mobility industry solution experiences,” the French company said in a statement today.

Dassault Systemes, a provider of 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and product lifecycle management solutions, has centres at six cities, including Bangalore, Gurgaon and Pune, in India.

The acquisition includes purchase of SFE GmbH, its various products, SFE CONCEPT, as well as its acoustic and NVH simulation offerings, SFE AKUSMOD, SFE AKUSRAIL, and SFE MECOSA, the statement said.

The deal was completed early July, 2013.

“The combined SFE and Dassault Systs 3DEXPERIENCE platform capabilities will lead to complete coverage of the entire value chain for the transportation & mobility industry,” Dassault Systemes President & CEO, Bernard Charles said.

“It will bring immediate benefits to SFE’s long list of customers, including General Motors, Porsche, Fiat, Chrysler, Daimler, FORD, BMW, Volkswagen and others,” the statement said.

SFE’s customers will receive significant value through Dassault Systemes’ global support organisation and commitment to research and development, SFE CEO, Hans Zimmer said.
