Over one year after it stopped producing fertilisers at its Taloja facility, Pune-based Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation (DFPCL) has resumed the production of ANP fertiliser there.
The production has been resumed using imported re-gassified liquid natural gas (RLNG) as the supply of domestic natural gas was discontinued on May 15, 2014 as per an order of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas. The company has challenged the order in the Delhi High Court and the hearings are underway.
In a filing to the BSE, Deepak Fertilisers said that the resumption of production of its flagship product 24:24:0 is on account of requests from farmers as well as a directive from the Department of Agriculture, Government of Maharashtra, to meet the demand during the current kharif season.
The company said that the decision in not driven by commercial considerations.
