Dhingras, the promoters of Berger Paints India Ltd, have taken a smooth succession initiative in the listed, but family-controlled management of the company. Ms Rishma Kaur, daughter of Mr Kuldip Singh Dhingra, who is continuing as the non-executive chairman of the company since 1994, has been appointed as the Alternate Director to the Chairman.
Mr Kanwardeep Singh Dhingra has been appointed as the Alternate Director to his father and the Vice-Chairman, Mr Gurbachan Singh, who happens to be Mr Kuldip Singh's younger brother.
The company said that the board of directors approved the appointments last Thursday. The move was a “part of the ongoing succession and continuity initiatives of the company”, a company release said. Ms Kaur will continue as the National Business Development Manager of Berger Paints, and Mr Kanwardeep Dhingra will continue with the responsibility of the Manager - Project Engineering.
