The Policybazaar Group initiative, Docprime.com, which provides online health consultations on a real time basis, is looking to expand in close to 80-100 cities by December 2019. It currently has presence in around 40 cities.

According to Ashish Gupta, CEO, Docprime.com, which went live in October last year, is currently providing over 5,000 free medical consultations on a daily basis is targeting 50,000 daily consultations by December 2019. Plans are afoot to achieve around 100,000 daily consultations by December 2020.

“We have around 25,000 doctors on our platform at present. This is expected to increase to 50,000 doctors by the end of this year. We are also planning to reach out to 80-100 cities including large and small by this year end,” Gupta told BusinessLine .

Body ache and pain constitutes nearly 20 per cent of the overall consultations sought. This is followed by skin and hair related issues comprising for nearly 14 per cent. Fever, cough and cold (10 per cent) and sexual wellness (8 per cent).

The company is hopeful of booking around ₹600 crore in terms of gross value of services by the end of next year.

Docprime’s chat platform is AI-enabled which help doctors to screen initial profile of patients. Nearly 50 per cent of the chat on the platform is automated with the help of chatbots. Plans are afoot to make it 80 per cent automated in next 12 months.

While hospitals in the country are adept at handling patients when it comes to surgeries, however, they tend to lose connect when it comes to pre and post surgical treatment, he said highlighting the need for having a “destination site” like Docprime.

The company recently achieved the one million unique visitors mark. Millennials and digital natives between the age group of 18-25 and 25-30 form the highest segment of unique visitors at 52 per cent. A further 17 per cent of the users are split between the age group of 30-40.

Close to 40 per cent of the visitor traffic on the platform come from Tier-I cities. while the Tier-II account for nearly 15 per cent.

Nearly 53 per cent of men and around 47 per cent women use the site for online consultations, the company said.
