Domestic passenger car sales rose 9.62 per cent to 1,77,604 units in July against 1,62,022 units in the same month last year.
According to figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today, motorcycle sales in the country rose 10.98 per cent to 8,97,092 units during the month from 8,08,332 units in the corresponding month last year.
Total two-wheeler sales rose 13.52 per cent to 14,76,340 units from 13,00,457 units.
Sales of commercial vehicles rose marginally to 51,853 units during the month under review from 51,795 units in the year-ago period, SIAM said.
Total sales of vehicles across categories registered an increase of 13.22 per cent to 18,33,976 units (16,19,771 units), it added.
