Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has launched Amlodipine Besylate and Benazepril Hydrochloride capsules, used in treating high blood pressure, in the US market following approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).
The company launched the capsules in the US market on July 5 in strengths of 5 mg/40 mg and 10 mg/40 mg, respectively, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories said in a statement.
“Dr Reddy’s Amlodipine Besylate and Benazepril Hydrochloride capsules in 5 mg/40 mg and 10 mg/40 mg strengths are available in 100-count bottles,” it added.
Amlodipine Besylate and Benazepril Hydrochloride capsules are the generic version of Novartis’ Lotrel capsules.
According to IMS Health sales data, the Lotrel brand had US sales of nearly $290 million for the 12 months ended March 31, 2011.
Amlodipine Besylate and Benazepril Hydrochloride capsules are indicated for the treatment of hypertension.
Meanwhile, the company shares were being quoted at Rs 1,553.50 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange in late afternoon trade today, up 1.67 per cent from the previous close.
