Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has voluntarily recalled its hypertension drug, Metoprolol Succinate extended release tablets, from the US market.
According to a notification of the US Food and Drug Administration on its Website, the recall was classified as Class II and was due to failure in a dissolution test last month.
Over 13,000 bottles of the drug were being recalled. When contacted, Dr Reddy’s spokesperson told BusinessLine that it was a voluntary recall with ‘negligible’ financial implications.
