Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had yesterday “visited” the handset maker Nokia India’s plant at Sriperumbudur near here, sources said.
Though the officials were tight-lipped about it, the Finland-based company confirmed that the sleuths “visited” the factory yesterday.
“Nokia can confirm that its Indian facilities were visited by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence on Wednesday,” the company said in a statement.
“Nokia extended its full cooperation to the authorities, duly responding to all queries raised and extending its full support to help them during their visit,” it said.
Trouble at the Nokia’s Sriperumbudur facility, considered as one of the biggest factories in the world for the phone maker, brew soon after the employees went on a strike few months back pressing various demands.
