Ford vehicle buyers now have the option of factory-fitted accessories to give their automobiles that individual look.
Ford India will inaugurate a vehicle personalisation centre at its factory near Chennai tomorrow. The facility is initially available for the Ford Ecosport. This is the first such offering in the Asia Pacific region and the 18th centre globally, according to John Cooper, Vice President, Customer Service Operation, Ford Motor Company Asia Pacific.
This is a value added offering that addresses the quality issues for its customers who earlier had to depend on third party providers for such accessories.
Ford will offer three packages to start with including wheel cover options, alloy wheel and spoilers and a high end sport package. Buyers like to make a statement when they buy brand. A tailor-made modification at the factory level is a strong statement which was so far available only in the luxury segment, he said.
This is a start the company is making in the region and is timed in anticipation of rolling out the service to its new launches – at least three or four are planned over the next couple of years, Cooper said.
