Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has launched the generic version of Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir fixed-dose combination under the brandname Resof Total in India. The tablets are available in bottle count size of 28. It is used for the treatment of adult patients with chronic Hepatitis C Virus, Genotype 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 infection without cirrhosis or with compensated cirrhosis.
The Sofosbuvir 400mg and Velpatasvir 100 mg fixed-dose combination is a generic version of Gilead’s brand Epclusa. “Treatment with this combination achieves a cure rate of more than 90 per cent in all genotypes of Hepatitis C virus (1,23,4, or 6),’’ it said in a release.
