The Debt Recovery Tribunal has put off the hearing in matters relating to UB Group Chairman Vijay Mallya to April 5. The DRT was expected to take up the hearing on Monday but the case was postponed to April 5. The reasons for the postponement were not given. On March 7, the DRT had put on hold Diageo’s decision to pay $75 million to Mallya after he agreed to resign from the board of United Spirits as chairman and as a director. The lenders’ consortium led by SBI had also sought the impounding of the passport of Mallya, his arrest and disclosure of his assets. To take up the next application, the DRT had posted the hearing on Monday but the case was not listed.
