The DyStar Group and Arvind Ltd on Friday announced their commitment to joint development in the field of denim.

This agreement, signed a week ago between Harry Dobrowolski, DyStar’s CEO, and Sanjay Lalbhai, Chairman and Managing Director, Arvind Ltd, promises comprehensive cooperation, according to a press release here.

While the DyStar Indigo Vat 40% solution will be used at all the Arvind denim manufacturing facilities, dedicated teams from DyStar and Arvind's Denim Division will work closely to implement new technologies in indigo dyeing and finishing as well as develop new products, processes and effects for denim fabrics and garments.

DyStar, with a heritage of over 100 years of both product and application innovation, was founded as a coloration specialist for the textile and leather industries. Since then, the company has transformed itself into a solution provider, offering customers a range of colorants, auxiliaries and services.

At Arvind, business units span the entire textile and apparel value chain. In the late 1980s it pioneered the manufacture of denim in India. Now, with an installed capacity of over 110 million metres per annum, Arvind is one of the largest producers of denim worldwide.
