Maruti Suzuki on Monday said that with sales of over 2.5 lakh units in 2018-19, its compact sedan Dzire has retained its position as the country’s top-selling sedan. With a current marketshare of 55 per cent, Dzire has catered to over 19 lakh customers so far and has led the segment for over 10 years now.
The Dzire has seen three generations since its launch in 2009-2010, when it sold 1.5 lakh units.
“With the launch of Dzire, we created a new ‘compact sedan’ segment which is continuously evolving and growing. Over the years, Maruti Suzuki Dzire has led this growth . A testimony to its strong customer connect is that the sales of third-generation Dzire has gone up by nearly 20 per cent,” Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki, said.
