Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a public sector entity under the administration of Ministry of Power, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Coal India Ltd (CIL) for implementation of energy efficiency projects in CIL and its seven subsidiaries.
According to the MoU, EESL will carry out energy efficiency projects in all CIL establishments, including office buildings and mines.
EESL seeks to unlock the energy efficiency market in India, estimated at $12 billion that can potentially result in energy savings of up to 20 per cent of current consumption, by way of innovative business and implementation models.
