Eicher Motors Ltd today posted a 42 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to ₹139.12 crore in the first quarter ended March 31.
The company had posted a profit of ₹97.94 crore in the same period of 2012-13.
Net sales rose to ₹1,899.91 crore from ₹1,708.60 crore a year earlier, Eicher Motors said in a BSE filing. The company follows a January-December financial year.
Eicher Motors manufactures and markets Royal Enfield motorcycles. It also has a venture with the Volvo group that designs, manufactures and sells commercial vehicles.
Eicher shares traded at ₹6,635 on the BSE in late afternoon trade, up 2.19 per cent.
